Busi Gcaba is HIV positive and open about her status. She was one of the first people to be openly positive in the community in 2002. She conducts HIV awareness and positive living talks and visits others with HIV. In 2008 she started a crèche in her home caring for 20 children especially wanting to reach out to HIV infected children who are often not welcomed in other creches. Most of the parents cannot afford the 50 Rand ($6) per month for the crèche. Several of the children are HIV + and some of the children were abandoned and left with Busi.
